St Louis Wedding Photographers | Angel Oak Johns Island SC

Angel Oak

Johns Island, South Carolina

Enroute to an engagement session in Hilton Head SC, we took a strongly suggested detour to see the Angel Oak. An unpaved road in South Carolina led to an absolutely phenomenal sight.

Spanish moss adorned its interwoven boughs lending a sense of antiquity and dignity to this surreal life form. We were in awe of the sheer size and complexity. Each sweeping branch seemed to lead to a peaceful secluded spot all under the solemn protection of the over 17,000 square feet of shade furnished by this solitary giant. Sitting beneath this oak was a wonderful place to contemplate our relative smallness on this Earth.
